Covert emotional abuse is so destructive that it takes the lives of good, loving human beings - and raw education about it needs to happen. You may not see how bad it was at this time, but it will eventually all come to surface - and it'll be rough. It's best to have some support & encouragement during this process from someone who knows what it's like.
